Here is the windows 8 review by normal users on  the internet after uploading the OS on their computers.

For some odd reason i think that Windows 8 is gonna be the next big thing because its on ur computer first off, but its exactly the same on ur tablet and phone. All ur docs, pics, movies, web bookmarks, music and apps sync to three devices at the same it and when your not online you dont have to figure out to switch to offline mode. Instead of traditionally windows it look more like apps on ur phone but on ur computer, so your computer is always in ur pocket.

Got Windows 8 up and running, all my apps and programs loaded. Seems to be working fine I just need to tweak it and learn some of the new short cuts. If you have Windows 7 you may want to stay with it. Any thing older and it is a nice upgrade that I think is worth the change. $39 from Microsoft including Windows Media Center.

I really like Windows 8... but I didn't do a clean install, I did a upgrade and everything seems to work more smoother anddownload quicker... looks good and the new features im getting useto.. only bad thing so far is my Microsoft apps have corrupt and I cant get into store.. which really sucks cause I cant get media center cause its store only... battery lasts longer for me too.

I got Windows 8 installed on the kids machine last night, and haveto rave about the new 'Family Safety' controls. We can see whatapps and games they use, and what games they download from the Windows Store. All downloads are explicitly blocked from running unless we sign off and approve them first. We can see what they are searching for, what websites they visit, and finally...we can set time allowances per day.

Okay, for those that are curious about w7 vs w8... I've been using W8 beta and public release candidate for almost a year, now. I found out that HP will NOT be doing w8 drivers for the 2010 ENVY, which is why I held out going back to W7. So on the 26th, I went back to w7. Here are my thoughts: W8 *IS* a *MUCH* better operating system and here is why: *Better system resource management. *Faster boot times, faster shut down time. *Far more reliable upgrade / update deployment *Far more reliable standby / hibernation usage *MUCH faster file transfer speeds *Less taxation on the processor overall, reducing heat, which increases speed *Faster wifi connection, more reliable connection (Better driver coding for wifi hardware, perhaps?) *MUCH faster / improved background loading speed for various background programs (IE: Sidepanel gadgets load instantly after a freshboot. It no longer takes 15-20 seconds for themto pop up) *VASTLY IMPROVED frames per second in video games AND... the number one best thing about W8, that I miss after using it throughout 2012... ***Not a single kernel panic / bluescreen incident.*** ...Even after going 6 straight weeks without rebooting or shutting down the OS, only using standby or hibernate. The OS is positively outstanding. It's one enormous drawback is it takes a whileto locate all the features used by "power users". Unlike some, I figured out how to get around the OS in the first two days. I figured out how to set files to "OPEN WITH" things like the Windows slide viewer, instead of the photo app. I figured out how to have music open with programs I liked instead of those lame, worthless, feature-un-friendly apps. I can even get passed how ugly the "MODERN UI" aka "METRO" panel is... some people like that sorta' thing. So I don't consider it a "CON", I consider it "ugly to ME." But I can handle "rearranged user interface" in light of how goddamn stable the OS is. I've not used any virus protection programs this year. I never need'em. I occasionally scan with Malwarebytes if I need to. I don'tdownload much, beyond an occasionally humorous photograph from George Takei, or whatnot. I'm extremely pleased with the functionality of Windows 8. But it didn't do anything special or amazing. However, when I went back to w7 after using w8 for so long... I *DID* miss the things it does right. A LOT. More than I thought I would. I'm downright surprised. What does W7 do correctly in juxtaposition to w8? It has a familiar layout, and it has tried-and-true drivers for older hardware. That's it and that's all. I find myself completely shocked to admit that I dislike W7 after using the far-more-reliable w8 this entire past year. If HP ever does update the Envy drivers so I can use the hybrid switchable video graphics, the webcam, and the Beats Audio... I'd pay the 40 bucks to upgrade toW8 in a HEARTBEAT. I never thought I'd hear myself say that. But there it is.

Windows-8, took 12 hrs to download with TATA PHOTON and 2 hrs to install. It's like apps running on win-7. can switch between Win-7 and Win-8. To find start button is an process. Not very great can do without it if Win-7 does the work for you.
